Comic book festival Prásk!

The Prásk! comic book festival aims to showcase the diversity of Czech comic book authors. The idiosyncratic artist Tomáš Motal has selected motifs from iconic films from his illustrative work for the festival, thus linking the comic book section of the festival with the film section. His compositions also include references to his dark comic series Traum. Barbora Kukrechtová finds inspiration for her work mainly in her personal experiences and diary entries. At the festival, you will encounter strips from the collection I Sneeze Therefore I Am, in which she aptly describes the pitfalls of living with allergies. The characters in the comic Mezitah by illustrator Filip Zatloukal and screenwriter Albert Maršík travel on abandoned ships and collect what others have left behind in the darkness of space. The festival presents a selection from this sci-fi comic trilogy.
